Farm Camp for Horse Lovers

If your child is obsessed with animals and the natural world, we have a camp they’ll love! This camp will focus on farming as well as existing in nature with an opportunity to actually camp out on the farm under the stars and beside the fire.

Some of the main overarching camp focuses are listed below. Beyond gardening, animal husbandry and wilderness training, we will also spend time learning about how to care for the land. All campers will be required to help out around the farm while learning. We will also do a good portion of purely fun activities such as paddling around the pond in our mini boat and play lawn games.

Camp Focus

Gardening and Growing food

We will prep a garden and plant veggie starts while learning about spacing, plant requirements and growth rate. This will also include caring for the apple orchard and harvesting apples for a special treat.

Horse Care 101

Let’s answer all the questions your kids have about horses! We will discuss everything from what they eat, to how they communicate with both other horses as well as humans. We will muck stalls, groom the horses, learn about their anatomy and work on basic horsemanship such as how to be around a horse, lead a horse and use your energy to move them and earn their respect. This is a great way to determine if your child’s love for horses is beyond just a fascination. We will also touch on general animal husbandry and animal science which will also help your child understand more about their interest. No matter if your child wants to keep horses personally, be a Pro Jumper, use horses for Ranch Work, or be a Veterinarian - what we’ll go over should be considered a necessary foundation.

Exploration + Camping

We learn about plant identification while we take a hike on our private trails. We’ll set up a camp down by the firepit which will include tents and a food prep station so we can hunker down and sleep under the stars. All will be required to own a job/task and collaborate with their campmates.
